"If I Was Mayor Of Wellington"
If I Was Mayor What Would I Change?
1)Lower Rates -
I don't believe that Wellingtonians should of had a, in some cases $500 increase in Rates to pay for statues and things for the world cup.
2)More Fiscal responsibility from those in charge.
I'd love to see surpluses instead of a debt laden city.
A annual report in the paper - clearly showing where the rate money is going. (this might happen - i don't read the paper that often - forgive me if i'm incorrect here)
3) A principled leadership based on the Rights of the Individual,
Equality of Law (either laws apply to all or to none) and Freedom of Choice (people should have a choice (maybe online voting of where rate payers money should go).
4)Celebrating The City for The Citizens.
Pedestrians, I support light rail and more coverage overhead for walkers everywhere (clear plastic for light to get in on nice days). Though privatization, people can pay to walk in covered walkways or private rail systems......just thinking. Someone smart can think of a way for it to be paid for without the use of public funds!
How can we lower rates?
Reduce bureaucracy in bylaws and laws and the number bureaucrats in wellington!
Thanks.
Peace and Love.

It is time we became a more principled country.
The price of Freedom is Eternal Vigilance.
